Purchasing Tips

Follow the steps below to make your purchase as smooth as possible.

Step 1: Create a Ticketing Profile

Before the on-sale date, set up a user profile with Front Gate Tickets. Click “Sign In” at the top menu and create an account using your email address or connect through Facebook.

Step 2: Be Ready at On-Sale Time

On the day tickets go on sale, log in to the Front Gate Tickets page before the on-sale time. To avoid declined transactions, consider pre-authorizing the charge with your credit card company. Once tickets go live, refresh the page to see available options.

Step 3: Move Quickly

After selecting tickets, you’ll have 10 minutes to complete checkout. Review ticket options in advance so you can add them to your cart right away.

  • If tickets show as “unavailable,” it means they’re currently in other carts.

  • Tickets are not sold out until marked “Sold Out.” Because of time-outs or declined cards, tickets may return to inventory. Keep refreshing for another chance.

  • Important: There is a limit of 10 tickets per household per day.

Avoid Scams

Only purchase through the official ticketing page. Tickets bought from third-party resellers or scalpers may be counterfeit or invalid, and cannot be guaranteed.

For more details, check our FAQs before the on-sale date.

Wristbands

After purchasing, you’ll receive your tickets by email as a PDF attachment. If you don’t see them, check your spam or junk folder. You may print the tickets or save them to your smartphone wallet.

On event day, bring your ticket to the train depot box office, where it will be scanned and exchanged for a wristband. Your wristband serves as your boarding pass.

Wristband Policy

  • Treat your wristband like cash: once issued, it cannot be replaced.

  • Wristbands must be worn securely at all times and will be checked when boarding.

  • Wristbands are non-transferable, non-exchangeable, and non-replaceable.

Do not stretch, tamper with, or remove your wristband—doing so will void entry.

  • Counterfeit or duplicated wristbands will be confiscated by event security.

  • If removed by event staff for any reason, a wristband will not be reissued.

Additional Info

  • All ticket holders must pass through security and bag inspection. Prohibited items will be confiscated.

  • The Great Smoky Mountains Music Train takes place rain or shine.

  • All sales are final—no refunds.

  • Only wristbands issued by Front Gate Tickets are valid for entry.

There are no exceptions to this policy. For assistance on event day, visit the box office at the train depot.
